Yes, I was happy to hear that many people watched! I really love the universe. It has a kind of queer sensibility for a canon with no gay characters -- I think because of the whole outsider, doesn't understand normal hetro social relations POV... and also the strong theme of created family.

Is RPS making a bit of a come-back? Last time I checked it seemed still dominated by Lotr. (You'd think that we'd have seen a sudden resurgence of the popslash after Lance's announcement, but I haven't spied anything of the kind...)

Interesting. I'm not sure how I'd react to it, given my whole "um, he's a *serial killer*" reaction to the premise, but I may catch the pilot and see if it does anything for me.

As to RPS, I've gotten into the CWRPS side of things -- the actors on Smallville and Supernatural, specifically. As you can see from my icon, this network believes in eye candy :D

It's an interesting premise. As the show summary states, "Although his drive to kill is unflinching, he struggles to emulate normal emotions he doesn't feel". The ulimate closet case! heh.

Terrible broken, orphaned Dexter.

Have you seen sockkpuppett's Dexter vid?

Also, My Boys is quite enjoyable. But something is always wrong with the sound on my TV and they all sound raspy and weird.

Have you tried watching on the website? They have all of the full episodes at tbs.com except for the season finale. [sometimes the links bring up the wrong videos, but if you click on the ep you want to watch, and then when it comes up go to 'link to this video' -- that addy is always right. If you put that one in, the right episode will come up.]

I haven't been able to watch the series (no cable, alas) but I *love* the Dexter books. So wrong, so, so good.

this is such a fabulously timed post FOR ME. :D I am just watching dexter now, today! after having it pimped to me for a good bit. I really like it so far, and I'm really liking the idea of the audiobooks. Thank you for the tip!

I haven't seen anything so far but the first season, which I just finished last night.

I was frankly pretty disappointed in the season ending, which I found quite predictable - but it seems I now have a bond with Dexter's character, haha, for better or worse, so we'll see.

I wasn't sure I liked how the season ended myself... I pretty much prefer the way the novel ended.

Book 1 actually ends with Dexter letting his brother escape. And Debra is awake through everything, so she finds out Dexter's secret identity other life. Oh, and the ITK murders La Guerta.
