So many films and plays and stories that I love are about friendships between women. Even stupid stuff like Wild Child really gets me because it's not really about anything but girls being friends. Friendship is an underrated thing to write about. It tends to take a backseat to romance.
(Also, For Good is just getting to me so much right now because I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT UNIVERSITY.)
Mm I totally agree, which is why I love things that are about friendship SO much. For me, it's always been more important than romance. And I think friendships, the really good rare ones that appear in TV/films, can be so good, often better than the couples. Like House/Wilson in House xD They're HILARIOUS, and are beaten only by House/Cuddy in the hilarity stakes. Good friendship brings so much to a program, even if it's just on the sidelines, not least because writers have to think of something more inventive than, "He cheated on me with my best friend" dramas. I wish we had more stories based on solely friendships. I'm definitely going to explore it more with my writing (nanowrimo '10 ftw)
I've noticed xD It always gets to me 'cause of all the rumour surrounding Cheno/Menzels friendship, and how much it seems to apply to them in RL. And how much friendship means to me *wibbles* How does it get to you, though? Because it's emotion + uni?
