"I'm like, literally in Burma..."

I watched the Channel 4 Comedy Gala the other day, which was HILAIRE, although I wished they'd have had fewer comedians, cause it felt rather rushed. Ruth Jones and James Corden were my absolute FAVOURITES. I could not love Gavin and Stacey any more if I tried.

Has anyone here read or seen Dr. Faustus?
I really like it! It brings the lulz, especially as I'm the only one in the class who ever volunteers to read for Faustus , which is - apparently - très amusant. I love the way it's written, too - not as pretty as Shakespeare but then not as complex either.
(Are you studying the Gothic?)

SO much love for ICTC here as well. I rec it to EVERYONE when they ask for one XD.

Alsoalso, will you be doing another fashion post soon? I love fashion posts *g* ♥.

I am indeed studying the Gothic! I'm also doing Wuthering Heights, which is great as there's loads of write about (although it's laughably ridiculous at times), Frankenstein, Paradise Lost (which is like reading French) and we did a bit of Macbeth aswell. What about you?

ICTC is so good, I'll definitely rec it. Have you read any Eva Ibbotson?

Oh well as you ASK :P LOL, I will soonish; does pictures of pretty hair count? I'm GOING BLONDE and need refs.

We must be doing the same spec! You told me at one point that you did feminism for coursework (snap!) :D.
Aaah, WH for me too. I hate it. I mean, I don't usually find a book that I really HATE (it's v. rare) and I live/eat/breathe classic novels, but WH is just... ugh. I like the Gothic setting, etc, but the characters are all so unlikable and it is in NO way "romantic" (as my copy's cover says). Our other text is The Bloody Chamber (collection of short stories) by Angela Carter, WHICH. I. LOVE ♥. So much. And it ties in really well with feminism too, hee!

Nooo, I haven't but I remember you reccing The Secret Countess to me. I just haven't found a copy in any library yet D:

Hair counts! :DDD LOL, whenever it comes to discussing TV characters/actors I always seem to start with their hair *g*.

GAH ANGELA CARTER!! I did 'Lady of the House of Love' for my second piece of cw and I LOVED it. I really want to read the rest :D

I completely agree with the unlikeable characters'lack of romance thing. It's basically a repressed girl going MENTAL with her imagination. She really needed to get some.

Haha! I wondered if I'd recced Countess already, I do love it. They probably have 2nd hand copies on Amazon for a few pounds; that's what I usually resort to, considering the utter fail of my town library.

I always seem to start with their hair INORITE! I always finish with "and they had really good/bad hair." I may do a blonde picspam tomorrow during a revision break :D You can TOTALLY join in in in the comments XD

Oh, I've been planning on reading Anna Karenina and Dr. Faustus!

My current shallow decision making in the election has taken the form of choosing between voting for David Rowntree (Labour) and Tristan James Law Smith (Green). My conflict arises solely from the fact that the former drummed for Blur, and the latter has a fabulous name.

DEFINITELY read Faustus; it only takes like 2 hours and it's quite good. I'd recommend setting a good few hours aside when you start Anna Karenina so you can really get into it.

LMAO!! Ohmygosh what a quote, I might put that on my hall of fame.
