The O.C. Fic: Hip and Hypocrisy (Missing Scene Fic Challenge II and a bundle of other things...)

Nov 07, 2005 18:26

My benevolent self is busy, but aware of all the shiny things she promised. Time for a list (in order of request):

1) OC Missing Scene Fic: II
2) Lost drabble for tarteaucitron
3) Firefly drabble for emrose33
4) Icon for cheekymice
5) OC drabble for demonic_cookie
6) Music rec for famous99

I think I can do that. Huh. Anyway, presenting promise the first...

The Return of The Nana: Hip and Hypocrisy )

For such a woman to open her heart unconditionally to a young, hair-plugged man with a tan of questionable origins
You had me here... with this description of Bobby. Awesome.
This little piece had such energy.

I love your lists

Thanks for the nice review; I almost feel that this was too short to warrant reviews, nice or otherwise... almost. I'm a junkie.

My lists and I are not speaking at the moment. It keeps telling me to do things. Dammit. Do you have any preference for music today?

I stopped making lists. Because I do everything but what's on the list. (But of course, I add what I did onto the list and cross the other things off!)
And still no music preference. I'm music stupid, really. I do need something cheery though. Not too mellow... it gets dark early, the weather is getting cold, and well I'm feeling ugh today. (Not much sleep, I believe that's why things are dragging me down so easily.)

Hee. Good one. I loved this line The Nana took to them all with a song in a heart and a swing in her step, give or take the time she’d accidentally thrown her hip out of its socket.
Who knew the Nana was such a go-er! I was surprised I remember at this episode and how quickly she gave up and believed Sandy, and also annoyed at Sandy for behaving as he did, even if he was right. This brought it all flooding back, in an amusing but also "making a point" sort of way. Hope that makes sense. And Hi s, *WAVES* I've had a day of trauma with my computer and missed most of yesterday's posts, hence catching up today.

Sandy can be a slef-righteous bastard. Your mother moves to a retirement home in Florida, has a major brush with cancer, basically changes her personality and you go over there and patronise her and dismiss something that rightly or wrongly has made her happy as sinister.

Sensitive dude, really sensitive. Ah. I'm channeling The Nana V1.0

How lovely! I really enjoy missing scenes that aren't what you expect and I love this one from the Nana's perspective.

Good on the Nana for appreciating what she had with Bobby, even if he wasn't on the up and up. And instead of getting depressed, she got right back on the horse, so to speak. Hee.

As always, your writing is beautiful. I love it when you find the time. :)

You say the nicest things to me. I knew there reason I excepted your proposal. Other than the enormous rock, of course.

She didn't get back on the horse, so much as she was the horse. Naughty Nana!

I was hesitant to open this, but you took lemons and made lemonade! I did not want to see any version of the not-rape scene, thank you very much.

This was so poignant. The Nana is awesome, and what TPTB did to her in this ep was criminal. You at least redeemed her in our eyes and made her strong again...in charge, instead of weak and pathetic. Thank you for that.

Have a lovely holiday, silver.
