Actually I love Mornington Crescent generally. I have spent many happy hours involking the Kingsway Variations or working my way out of spoon when I have no green counters left. Did you know that a pub near the station has been named the Lyttleton Arms after Humph?

There was a vey cool Dark is Rising fic where someone played Mornington Crescent, I think it was by gramarye1971 but I can't find a link at the moment. [eta] innerbrat just gave me the link - Merriman and Aziraphael play here.[/eta] I don't think I've ever played. I'd imagine that I'd just get horribly confused and accidentally win far too early because I panicked.

I didn't know about the pub. That is a wonderful tribute.

OK! Will do. I've actually read the second volume from the library and I was intending to buy the rest but I haven't seen it on sale anywhere. I will "acquire" it ASAP.

I've just read all of Manhunter and Kate Spencer and her supporting cast are fascinating.

(Also I have a feeling you once mentioned a Mornington Crescent by gramarye1971 but I can't find it. Am I imagining that?)

I'd definitely recommend it. I enjoyed the incredibly different sensibility to the Bat Books, there are far more shades of grey to explore. It is written by the guy who wrote Streets of Gotham (I assume he was the creator) so you know exactly what you are getting into. Also it is apparently the place all the male gay characters from the DCU were hiding (I'd wondered).
