【Brothers Conflict】 lyrics: Kiss&Cry / Daisuki o Mamoru Bokura no Uta

Nov 25, 2013 19:42

Like I said, I'm back with the first two duets from the "KO☆DO☆MO" album~

(Kiss&Cry- The first duet of the album features Yuusuke and Fuuto~ By the first time I was listening to the song, I had just had my dislike for Yuusuke's singing voice reaffirmed by "Chouhatsu Machine☆Gun," and wasn't really looking forward to hearing him in this one. But ( Read more... )

I'm really not a translator or anything but the last few lines
"RUI ni wa chotto NAISHO da ga
JURI-san ni wa NAISHO ni shite ne
kazoku janaku imouto janaku
tsutaetai kotoba ga aru yo
kimi dake o itsumo 'aishiteru'"
I'm sorry if I'm wrong but aren't they saying
"Here's a little secret to Louis
Juli-san I have a secret to(for) you too
There is something I want to tell(express to) you(Ema)
I will always and only love you"

But then again on another translation, I saw,
"Rui is a person full of secret
Juli-san is a secretive person" ect

Or maybe I'm just confused as in whether they are talking to each other or to Ema. Because before that, they were speaking to each other...Or up to some point they didn't xD
Or wait, were they confessing to Ema?

I completely understand the confusion over who's being addressed in these lines, although I'm pretty sure we can rule out that they're confessing to each other. ^^; Let's see if I can try to break it down:

The particle "ni wa" is a combination of "ni" and "wa" (obviously). "Wa" marks the topic of the sentence, whereas "ni" can be used in several different ways, but in this case I believe it's somewhere along the lines of either the recipient of an action or the location of where the action is taking place. Of course, there is no action verb in these first two lines, so that only serves to confuse further. If I had to make a guess as to a literal translation, I got something along the lines of "To this person, this is a secret" (with "to" being used in the sense of location). So maybe a better translation would be "as far as this person is concerned, this is a secret".

The "secret" in question is that each of them do not see you(Ema) as family or a little sister and that they've both always loved you(Ema).

Does that help?

Oh..I see! Now it makes sense, a little xD But I can see your point. So in the last line they are probably talking to Ema. Thank you! Sometime songs can be so confusing :P Like DiaLovers and BroCon, but they all sound so wonderful that I want to know the translation better ;) Thanks for the explanation once again

These duets are pretty cute. (^^)
I really like Fuuto and Yusuke's rivalry because its funny!
Yusuke's voice is manly not tone deaf :D
But Hosoyan used his ikemen voice in the chorus part and that's good.
Louis and Juli's song is adorable too :D
Too bad Kamiyan can't used his ikemen voice in this one.
Because his character is just a squirrel xDD

Thanks for translating~! By the way, does the CD come with instrumental versions of the songs?? If so, I might buy it, if I can find it :'D I really love having instrumental versions of my favourite songs.

According to the official site, it does indeed come with the instrumental version~ As a general rule, I think most (if not all) Japanese albums come with an instrumental/karaoke version. ^^

Ah, thank you, but I was actually commenting on a different song lol, I was referring to the song Kiss & Cry from Brothers Conflict, sung by Yuusuke and Futo, from one of the character albums. It probably does I'm thinking, as I am aware that most Japanese CDs seem to have instrumentals, but I wanted to be sure it wasn't a rare case where they didn't, in case I buy it. X'D

About Yuusuke's singing voice simplyme1109 August 23 2014, 14:38:11 UTC
The voice actor generally has a really great singing voice~ However, he did mention in the 14 to 1 cast comment that he though that Yusuke as a character would not be able to sing, and so he had thought really hard about how to portray him in that sense, and the result is the slightly off tune, roughish kinda voice XD I think after listening to it for awhile and getting used to it, even that voice became easier to listen to~ I reckon why he slipped back into his usual singing voice in the chorus when singing with KENN was because he didn't want his voice to stand out over the other. Their voices originally blend well so it turned out great in my opinion!
