You might have an attachment to somewhere, but that attachment is because of the memories it triggers, rather than the place itself, and your strongest memories are always those with people in them, rather than places. Places simply trigger that connection :)

I love that you bought Souvlaki! Always makes me laugh coz that's a yummy snack in Greece consisting of lamb and vegetables, lol.
Have to disagree with Mr Selerox on one thing though, I don't necessarily think that strongest memories are always those with people in them. Not for me anyway. I've been to a ton of places that I have amazingly strong memories of from simple things like the sights, smells, sounds, etc. I think sometimes people can ruin good memories!
If you make a home somewhere you are definately attached to it should feel natural and exciting, not like you are taking a risk. It's just a new opportunity and there's nothing stopping you. Go with the flow and don't worry about needing guts because, as you said, if you don't like it there is nothing stopping you from moving on.
