Being from the country which first allowed females to take over the throne, I think, this is highly interesting to me.

Our first princess-to-be-queen, became so after the 30-year war. Her father had died in battle during the war, and she was his only child. She was only six years old at the time, so I believe that some noblemen or whatever they're called, handled matters until she would be of age. That was threehundred years ago I think. (Can't remember my kings and wars right now.)

Our current Crown Princess, Viktoria, is our first Princess who will take over after her father, in spite of having a younger brother who is of age. (Must add on a personal note, I'm really proud of her being our princess. She's very committed to do good things and help others.)

Meh, if they keep on being this stubborn about the issue, they'll end up with no Imperial family. And it's not like they can just switch family, they'd lose the whole "descendant of Amaterasu" that makes the Imperial family what it is.

This is kind of fun to discuss. ^_^

I didn't even know Sweden had a royal family until tonight when I started looking up the Japanese Royal Family (I've found a forum on all the royal families).

I agree. It's much better to have a direct line (which means Aiko is Empress) than to branch out. Of course, given that the Japanese Royal Family is 'decended' from a goddess, makes this extremely funny and frustrating. ><

And Aiko is sooooo cute!!!!!! ^_^

You know, if I remember my history class, Japan used to be a matriarch. But then they decided to become a patriarch like China, because everything China did was teh BOMB ( ... )

That's the first I've heard of that! O_O I know that Japan has had 8 Empresses in some 1,000 years.

Oh, boy. :p I now like your country. Very creative. XD
