Kefka's magic show has the (probably intended) effect of causing Sephiroth to spring right up to his feet, and have a seven-foot sword materialize almost instantly into his left hand before he even opens his eyes.
When he does though, he really can't miss Kefka's rioting panoply of color. He lowers the sword only slightly.]
