YOU'RE SO VAIN

I was walking down the street today belting You're So Vain and a guy on a bike came up behind me and started singing along - "clouds in my coffee, clouds in my coffee". It was awesome. He was all "it's a great song" and "it's got to be forty years old!" and said he was a singer and that he was glad to hear it was still sung.

YOU WALKED INTO THE PARTY

LIKE YOU WERE WALKING ONTO A YACHT

. . . it's such a good song <3

And it's the perfect exit song of one of my favorite movies, Dick with Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst.

YOUR HAT STRATEGICALLY DIPPED BELOW ONE EYE
YOUR SCARF IT WAS APRICOT
YOU HAD ONE EYE IN THE MIRROR AS YOU WATCHED YOURSELF GAVOTTE

It is such a great song. I also like that the subject isn't common knowledge; the wikipedia entry is a frenzy of speculation still :P

Fun Fact: My Dad dated Carly Simon. I don't remember if it was before or after she became famous though.

Great song, though I particularly love John Barrowman's cover of it. :D
