Dannie smiled as she heard the music filtering from Echo's speakers. An old Sisters song, opne of Dannie's favourites, in fact. She listened for a while, then she joined in with the New Romantic rhythm.

Two worlds apart, two together
Into that good night kiss away
One takes the hard, one the other
Kiss away

Echo made a noise, like an indrawn breath, only electronic. Dannie doubted the wisdom of this course of action auddenly as she slowly coalesced into visible form and prayed that Kitt would arrive soon, and reassure her partner that she wasn't going insane (again)

Are you living for love ?
Are you living for love ?
When the road gets too tough
Is your love strong enough ?

She kept singing, hoping that somehow, her voice would soothe her, her insubstatial heart aching silently for the pain Echo had been through.

I love you, Echo.
My firend, my partner,
My sanity...even if I was never yours...

Dannie had requested his presence, even so much as he'd offered it. His own heart ached, for Echo, for Dannie, for himself - but, he reasoned, at least he knew that his former partner was at least alive... somewhere. Echo hadn't had that sort of luck. Her pain was beyond profound. Kitt admired the fact that she was even still functional, much less had regained as much of her sanity as she had.

Sanity that he needed to protect.

He pulled slowly into the garage, scanner tracking slowly, steadily. His voice was even.

"Hello, Dannie. Echo."

"Dannie?" Echo said, so softly that it sounded like an exhalation of breath, rather than a name.

"It can't be...it can't...Kitt, please. Don't let me fall, not again. It can't be her..."

Terror was being overtaken by hysteria. The readings were utterly impossible. It *could not* be her lost partner...

But Kitt had said her name...

Hadn't he?

Dannie watched with increasing worry as Echo started babbling, calling out to Kitt for reassurance.

"shhhh, Echo, luv." She said, softly, "It's ok. I'm here, I'm really here. And Kitt's here. We won't let you fall. I'll never let you fall again."

If it was possible for a ghost to have a lump in thier throat, Dannie had one now.

"Oh, god..Echo...I'm so sorry. I didn't want to leave you."
