First of all, I love this Burt and Blaine dynamic. I adore Burt's characterization, and his observations about Blaine, and how Blaine just keeps coming back to his shop, like he needs something there (and given what we've seen on the show, I do think it's more than just about Kurt; there's definitely a father/family issue thing as well).
And I love how many things are left unsaid, like in real life conversations. So many questions that could be asked that aren't, so many comments that could be made... and they remain silent. Both Burt and Blaine. Which creates a fascinating tension and build-up to so many possibilities.
Which makes me want to know more and read more.
Next chapter, please. :)

As for their conversations, thank you. One thing I've really struggled with as a writer is trying to create conversations that feel real and have that element of things that are thought, but aren't said, questions that aren't asked, comments that aren't made. So, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Soon. I hope. I don't like to make promises about this sort of thing because I never know when live is going to get in my way, or when my OTP is going to be canon and start making out on television...

I tried to think about Burt's thoughts from the perspective of a parent. I tried to put myself in his place. He's lost a wife and he has this kid that he doesn't totally understand, but who needs him, and he's growing up, and he knows, rationally, that someday Kurt will grow up and he'll probably move away from Ohio and he won't need his dad anymore and idk, having a boyfriend, having a significant other, someone else he can rely on, yeah, Kurt would need Burt a little less and it's just another reminder that Kurt is growing up and he's going to be leaving soon.
This got really long, really fast, sorry.
I know the feeling about want to know how it ends, but not wanting it to end. I'm glad that you feel that way :D
