Horses Get To Work During Mardi Gras. How the New Orleans Police Department prepares their horses for the "Blaring bands and waving flags, stumbling drunks and splashing beer, glittery trinkets flying toward curb-to-curb crowds numbering in the hundreds of thousands."

Oh, man, I'm just looking at your photobucket collection and that parade looks awesome! I haven't seen a good parade since I lived in Toronto (you haven't seen a parade until you've seen buttloads of Scottish pipers and Gurkhas with curved kukris' all the way from Nepal.)

Wow, it totally must be winter there because I see people wearing ~jackets~.

Flimsy, flimsy jackets but jackets nevertheless...

Flimsy jackets are all that's needed here. No Gortex for us. Haha!

Muses is an all-women krewe and it's become one of the best Mardi Gras parades. I try not to miss it. I'll have to post pics of some of the cool things they threw off the floats. Very creative and fun.
