It was the worst massacre in U.S. history.

Um, no. The worst on a US campus, yes. But not worse than the masscres (PLURAL) of Native Americans in ambushes. And not worse than the Tulsa riots in 1921 or Rosewood when the whole town was literally wiped off the map.

Sure it was bad and terribly sad. But it's for real NOT the Worst Massacre in U.S. History.

I have to agree. The whole article was ruined for me by that one line. It shows such an incredible amount of short-sightedness and self-absorption.

Some news outlets are responsible enough to add a qualifer to that statement but yeah...it would be laughable if it weren't so sad...

Very good point. I've heard and seen the phrase used to describe this incident and you're right, it's not the worst.
