They're mostly Asian - there's a Yo!Sushi in St David's food hall, and a takeaway called HotWok on... I think it's Carlisle St it's called, near the Castle. There's quite a few decent takeaway places along that street actually. There's a few nice cafes in St Davids centre, nearer the market entrance and one in the market too. Personally I like to just buy some fresh bread and bits from the market and take a picnic somewhere :)
If you can get a table there's Jamie Oliver's place and there's the usual Wagamama, Pret a Manger etc that you find in most big cities.
I love the Chinese buffet at Mermaid Quay... damn, can't remember the name for the life of me, but it's good, and cheap, all you can eat chinese, japanese and other asian cusine.
Um, that's about it really, no hidden gems I'm afraid!
