I chalk it up to a bit of the good ol' Southern hospitality. Honestly, maybe it's just cause I live here, but it seems like people in the South, like in Houston, are doing much more than anyone else seems to be doing. It could just be 'cause we're close. We are hosting one or two students, we haven't been confirmed yet, but we're the second family on the list. The girls will be living with us for what looks like the whole year. My good friend's cousin is already living at his house and ghosted him at Strake today. It's really amazing how hard Houston is working to help all the people in need ( ... )

it's absolutely insane. i'm not sure i even have enough gas to go home. it's four dollars here. >.< it's absolutely insane. i only wish i was closer so i could actually help some people. i have no money to donate, and i doubt my college is about to say "oh, we'll help people." all this terrifies me. looks like sometimes we all forget that nature's the one in charge around here.

my best friend lives in florida, and another of my friend here's family, too. i constantly have to stop and thank whoever the hell's in charge that they weren't the ones who got hit. and then i feel bad, you know, for being glad it didn't hit somewhere else. ugh. this is all so terrible. i hate thinking about it.
