Technically, I believe it's criminal assault to impede an emergency responder, even if they only do so with verbal abuse.

If nothing else, interfering would expose you to liability issues.

As for Driveway Dude, was he in shock and responding inappropriately as a result, or was he an absolute ****ing jerk?

I'm not sure, though he wasn't involved in the accident and was about four driveways down. Cars had filled the whole place. His wife was yelling at people too. It might be shock though - you can't really tell unless you're interacting more than I was.
