All I can say is, I think Gabriel might like staying here for a night or two, if just for the decor. Okay, and maybe to drive Kali nuts... :)

*laughs* I fully agree, ESPECIALLY with the upstairs conference center carpeting now. >.< It looks like the 70's came back to puke on it. *shudders*

so hubby has worked a tile warehouse for over 10 years now, and its funny how through all these pictures I am immediately looking at the tile first and THEN the rest of the remodel!

I especially like the gray tiles you used - hubby's work carries those and the slight, almost fabric texture of them really makes a floor pop. I've seen them used in some of the restaurants around town and they really modernize a place.

And yes the old carpet needed to go - it looks like something you would find in a nice retirement home NOT a hotel. Who the hell picked it?? And I totally agree, the cherrywood cabinets don't quite work. I would've chosen a dark olive green myself and matching green olive cushions on the chairs, but that's just me....

so, wheres the pix of the ducks??????

I think I'd like the gray tiles more if we sealed them. Right now they're just 'as-is', and the matte finish looks very dingy. I'm not fond of it, and I'm hoping he decides to seal it. :/ I have my doubts though. I don't know if the new bathroom tile is that much different than the old, or if it's the warmer color of the grout, but I adore it. XD ( ... )
