I know, I have a heap of partly-done bears sitting around, and I've got a mountain of fics to be working on, but... I wanna work on quilts. Specifically, these that I've found in the last few days. They're designed to be used with jelly rolls, but I've been busting out the math skills converting jelly rolls to yardages and whatnot to figure these ( Read more... )

It's super easy, especially these jelly-rolls. You can shell out the insane amount for the rolls (dunno if you know... jelly rolls are 2.5" strips of fabric that are 42" wide, and an assortment of colors, usually winding up to be 40 strips, and usually wind up being ~$40.00), or buy your own (I selected my own fabrics, and wound up paying $15 for all my fabrics), and then it's all straight lines to stitch. The "Charming Flowers" and "Hidden Stars" are both super-easy. Hardest part for me is being patient... I usually start off very careful with matching seams and whatnot, and have to stop before I just start slapping seams together about an hour into it. So it's usually an hour sewing, an hour doing laundry/dishes/whatever, an hour sewing, another hour off, etc etc ( ... )
