I'll probably mention that they get electric lights, since that is a pretty big milestone, but I don't think I need to include something in this much detail.

This is soo awesome. i love the family's awe at something we take for granted. Especially Nicky. And to think Cindy describes a single, shadeless lightbulb as pretty when nowadays it's an eyesore :)

The Halloween snowstorm made me appreciate electricity a lot more! But yes, it's fun to introduce all the little modern conveniences that we take for granted nowadays. I imagine that the first light bulb was a real novelty for a child used to candles and gas lamps. And it must have been a beautiful sight, even if nowadays we regard an uncovered bulb as ugly.
