Let's see. I think that Jack would kill for the sake of ensuring freedom, and in fact we have seen him do exactly that with the canonical fate of Cutler Beckett -- and even Davy Jones, for that matter.  ("I can set you free, mate.") Especially for himself, yes, but also for others.

As for how he'd die? He'd rather not, thanks -- not again. If he had to for the sake of something he believed in, something (or someone) near and truly dear to him, though, he would.

But frankly, I think he'd do his damndest to talk his way out of it instead, or at least to buy time. After all, if you buy enough time, it's like you never run out of it at all, savvy?

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?
Carry slaves or trade in slavery. Given how important freedom is to him -- and not only his own freedom -- that's a line I don't think he'd cross.
