I want to read/watch 1984...I've been wanting to do for years. I need to go to borders and pick it up. Have you read We by Yevgeny Zamyatin? It's about a communist world...it's interesting and also a bit hard to follow sometimes because people don't have names, they have numbers as names. I sometimes have a hard time remember who is who in book...so a number didn't help.

Read 1984, don't watch it. The movie adaptation just doesn't capture what the book does, both in effect and ideology...

And I haven't read We, but I HAVE read Anthem by Ayn Rand. That's a book where the word "I" has actually been eliminated from the language, and people have numbers instead of names as well. It's very interesting, and as always, I enjoy Rand's writing. =D
