003 :: VIDEO :: between a rock and a... tree.

Mar 26, 2011 20:41

[Winona is, at long last, in Violet City. She seems very worn out, her hair ruffled and messed up and her clothing wrinkled. A Pokemon is beside her, looking confused by how baffled her expression is, yet it isn't of the type she normally trains ( Read more... )

A... Sudowoodo? My best guess. [Will definitely has his guessing game face on. But. Maybe you can't tell with the mask there.] If you found it near Violet, it's not too strange of an idea.

Still... [Back to the deceiving smile!] it's lucky that you found one. I haven't seen one in the wild before. Or maybe I have, but it is a bit hard to tell.

Sudowoodo? Is that what it's called? [The Pokemon bounds up with a nod, as if confirming that.] I... suppose you might be right. It seems to be enthusiastic about that name!

Ah, you see, it was blocking the way to Violet and... Goldenrod, I believe it was? Pelipper squirted it with water, and it resulted in it attacking us. I'd captured it impulsively. It was like an insane story unfolding with a happy, but puzzling ending!

[He nods.] Yes... that is a Sudowoodo. Tell me, are you planning on keeping him?

I am... actually not sure! [Winona paused and glanced over to it. It had a bit of a frown on its face.]

I would if I could, but I have focused on flying-types for so long that I'm unsure if I would be an adequate owner for a different type.

I believe it is a Sudowoodo. I try my best not to take that particular route to avoid being attacked by it. I think it is a rock-type, hence why Sitara and I do not pass nearby it. Sitara would be knocked out easily if she tried to defend me.

Thankfully, I've already been informed of it being a Sudowoodo, but... a rock-type? I couldn't quite fathom how it's a rock-type. I couldn't understand that when it takes the shape of a tree.

[a.k.a wat]

[Kay is grinning into the video, eyes more on the soodowoodo than it is on Winona. In the background, there is what appears to be an Onix. Or, at least, a section of it's tail.]

Oh, that's a soodowoodo! I know it looks like a tree, but it's much closer to my Onix than it is to any grass-type.
[The video feed moves up to show the pokemon's face, who proceeds to let out a loud, happy roar. Enjoy that sound coming out of those tinny little PNG speakers.]
They're rock types, fairly strong ones at that, and using a disguise. I don't believe there are any studies that might lead to the reason for using something like that, hm, maybe I should suggest that for when this fossil deal is over, but I believe that may be the origin of it's name -- like pseudo, meaning false.

[Oh boy, Kay. We all really needed to listen to your rambling.]

So that would explain it! [Winona brightens up as if she'd finally come to an understanding about the mysterious Pokemon.] So it's only a disguise... yet why it would take on that disguise, I'm unsure. What if a curious patron decides to water the beautiful tree? Would that not harm it instead of giving it please? Though I suppose it would help to defend against fire-types.

[At least that was a benefit.]

Perhaps the Sudowoodo took it as an attack. I wonder if Pelipper was too rough with it...

[Winona frowns, but then suddenly perks up when she realizes she doesn't know this woman.] Ah! Hello, have we met?

Lucy-Rose! What a lyrical name. You may call me Winona. I am the gym leader of Fortree City in the Hoenn region.

[She smiles and glances over to Sudowoodo. It seems a bit... frightened by the woman on the other side of the screen.]

I have been informed already that it is a rock-type. It looks like such a strange one, at that. The woman I talked to told me that it uses its form as a tree as a disguise. How clever!

Oh, Miss Winona, when did you arrive in Johto? I hope you enjoy your stay! [beam beam.]

I wish I could be of more help but ... all I can say it that it certainly doesn't look like a Psychic Pokemon!

Ah, Tate! I arrived only about a week or so ago. It hasn't been too long, but I have already been having a lot of fun. Johto is simply stunning.

[She glanced over at Sudowoodo sheepishly.] I... suppose that looks could be deceiving with this one, though!
