I checked with my neighbor this evening by telephone to confirm that our power is still out. I had to call them because I've not been home for a few days. I spent Wednesday evening at Jim's sister's house; Thursday at my sister's house; and this evening, I am at my father's house

hmph. insurance should cover what happened to your car. also what happened to your home. it'll take a while for the claim to go through. maybe december?

I'm not sure how long it will take to get everything fixed up at my house. I guess I'll find out as things unfold.

Sandy works for Allstate and told me what to do with my auto claim. I should be able to get the car in for repairs as soon as this week. It looks like I'll need a new paint job after the dents are repaired.

I guess I could point out that the important thing is you're alive. Or I could say that it could have been worse, with more damage. But let's face it, although those are both true, it still sucks. At least now you have a chance to do some redecorating. Get a new paint job on the car. Good luck!

I've actually been in pretty good spirit, all things considered. I'm more bothered by still having no electric. I can be patient while everything else works itself out... just that I want to be patient at home.
