I didn't know these tablet devices were even available 3 years ago. Were you able to get Skype and Google maps to work? What is Marketplace? What does (almost) mean? How do they make part of the internet available, but not all of it?

I think internet tablets were very new 3 years ago. The interface is pretty good, considering the size and lack of anything like a real keyboard. It's really slow though. I couldn't get Skype to work, but I did get Gismo working, which is pretty much the same thing. The internet is only mostly available because a lot of stuff, including google maps, is really just too slow to be useful. The internet was a lot less demanding to PCs 3 years ago. By Markerplace, I was refering to downloading the NPR show to listen to, which requires Flash, which I haven't figured out how to install yet.
