And you thought The Prequals were bad...

That was only because you hadn't seen "The Clone Wars".

It gives bad a whole new meaning.

I did enjoy the drag queen hutt though. Almost made that 10 minutes of the movie worth while.

I think this confirms my suspicion that the original three movies were only good by accident.

I think the consensus view is that the original three movies were good because Lucas allowed himself to be restrained by other influences (i.e. he let other people write and/or direct). By the time the prequels came around he was thinking of himself as an infallible auteur, with the consequences that you see.

I'd say the only worthwhile part was that side-ways battle with everyone on rappelling lines.

But yeah, it's bad. I mean, I loved Episodes II and III, as well as the cel-animated Clone Wars TV series (mostly), but "The Clone Wars" movie is just bad. And George Lucas didn't write or direct it...

As I commented recently, though, the TV series that followed was decent. Not great, but pretty good for a kids show.

I second dclayh's opinion. IV, V and VI are so amazing. Changed the way films looked at Science fiction.
No more will I say. It's been said. RIP.
