Exercise

I think I need to get more exercise. During our trip, it seemed like we were walking around all day every day, and I really liked it. Yes, it made my feet hurt something awful, so maybe it was a little much, but mostly it was great. I was afraid that when we got back, I was going to feel like I needed a vacation after our vacation, because it ( Read more... )

That tunnel vision/dizziness thing happens to me sometimes when I work out and I'm sick. It's a really unpleasant feeling, like I'm about to pass out. I think it's just because I push my body too hard when I'm in recovery mode. Sounds like it might be the same thing for you. Just take it easy and work your way up to more when you're ready.

Do you know your blood pressure? Low blood pressure runs in my family, and as a consequence I get the effect where when I stand up too fast or some such I get woozy and tunnel-vision. I've noticed that it varies over time with changes in my activity. I have no idea if that might be affecting you, but it's at least easy to check.

Yeah, I do have low blood pressure, and so do both my parents, so I'm used to the standing up too fast thing. But it seems strange that it happens when I get off my bike, and it's happened when I've been out biking with my parents and they got really concerned and didn't show any signs of recognizing it as something they've experienced.

That happens to me when I exercise all the time. Sometimes I am okay until I stop, then the darkness and lack of stability come, or sometimes, it is gradually increasing throughout. I have never had complete, sudden loss of vision in the middle of exercise either, At this point, I have seen a neurologist, an endocrinologist, and a cardiologist, with no dx (except low blood pressure). However, I am now taking glucocorticoids (for low blood pressure), which seem to help some. In the mean time, there were lots of really annoying blood tests. I definitely think that getting tested for things is important. Let me know if your guys come up with an answer... One thing always ask is if lying down makes it better, so try that first.

I would guess that if you still have a cold it's related. Another thing that makes me feel faint with exercise is if I haven't had enough to eat beforehand.

Good way to get brisk walking exercise: get a dog. Then you HAVE to go for brisk walks, or you are being a bad dog-mom. (Let's temporarily ignore the fact that I only take the dog for walks once a day instead of two like I used to.)
