My air cleaner and water distiller are both functioning, at the moment. The house feels warmer with particulate-busters galore. could you recommend a water purifier to me? reading your entry reminds me of my desire to get a reverse osmosis steam distillation unit.. but last time I checked the $$ was upwards of $1,000.

Reverse osmosis is definitely best. I didn't buy one not only because of the expense, but also not knowing whether it would be removable once I moved out. I think they usually involve some complex set up.

http://www.amazon.com/Water-Distiller-Countertop-White-Enamel/dp/B00026F9F8 is mine. It's affordable, but I don't think it's cheaply made. I'm happy with it so far. The water tastes really good and clean. It takes a loooong time, presumably because the entire gallon of water is steamed. I usually let it go overnight or while I'm working.

I once bought filter for the shower but couldn't figure out how to install it. Maybe I'll try again and put the engineer boyfriend to the test... See, there is this argument that we absorb at least the equivalent of all the crap you'd find in a gallon of water during a five-minute shower.

We need to catch up soon. let's make a phone date for this weekend. you around saturday?
