Trouble in Paradise

One of the cats peed on the downstairs sofa. It's the second peeing incident in as many weeks. The last incident was the evening that we returned from being away for a few days. We suspect the kitten. I'm hoping that this isn't a trend ( Read more... )

Have you checked for a UTI? Most of the "good" cats I know who suddenly began peeing in places they weren't supposed to (usually involving carpets and/or upholstery) turned out to have UTIs.

Bizarrely, this is the second post in a row in my flist about inappropriate peeing behaviour from cats.

I thought of that too. She's due for her check up, so i'll see what the vet says.

What is up with the felines lately? Mine (just last night) marched up onto the sofa and peed with me right there beside him. Not sure what to think...litter box clean...etc. It might be the UTI the other person wrote about. I feel ur pain!!!!

We had a similar problem with our cats, we took her to the vet, she was healthy and fine, however, my vet mentioned that sometimes a cat will feel territorial (even with a litter box) and he suggested getting another litter box. At first i was like "Yeah, right." But then i got so mad about the peeing that we tried it, and since we got the second box we haven't had any more pee incidents.
