Pydhunie
Mumba Devi Mandir
Moolji Jetha Market
Jhaveri Bazaar
Mangaldas Market
Kitchen Garden Lane
Crawford Market

Somewhere along the way I spotted Pancham Puriwala and
Badshah and promptly ( Read more... )

I wanted to eat both but had no appetite.
Will skip a meal before going there again. :)

you were in my neck of the woods!
Any other places worth visiting in that area?
Apart from food joints...

From VT, if you start walking down towards Hutatma chowk, enjoy the fascinating sidewalk shows.
There is Strand Book Stall, literally down the street from Pancham Puriwala; and the nearby Apoorva and Mahesh Lunch Home for fish! :-))
Bombay Store - right across Strand.
On the other side of the road, (nearer to excelsior theatre) you have Chimanlal's Paper and accessory shop (not to be missed). Its in a little gulli off the main road.

If you have reached Hutatma Chowk by now, stop by and eat one (or two) of the Vada-paavs on the street!
then a ganna juice nearby!

(now my wouth is watering)

An amazing world, yes. And the quaint little lanes are
best explored on foot.
Strand is quite familiar to the book-lover me. Will
surely check out the Bombay Store and Chimanlal's.

Not Apoorva and Mahesh Lunch Home though; I am
a vegetarian.
Wada-pav, usacha ras - my mouth is watering too!

Thank you for the directions; my next ramble now has
an itinerary. :)

Now that happens to be the only song I can whistle
more or less tunefully. :)
