So who's hanging about in Tasmania? Not my father. I spoke to him in New Zealand only a couple of hours ago, and he will now be fast asleep. Not my mother, who hates flying. It was probably an outsourced call centre anyway. When I was in Johannesburg I got a mortgage sales call on my UK phone, from what was allegedly a UK-based company... I thought the guy's accent sounded suspicious so I asked where he was, turns out he was in Jo'burg too :-)

What a splendid way to waste everyone's time and money.

I don't think there are enough people on Tristan da Cuhna to staff a call centre :) Very small, and a bit volcanic if I remember correctly, having an old school friend who was from there.

But someone should have left a message on Ms K's mobile if there were trying to get hold of her, methinks :)

Yeah, I had a look on the web afterwards, apparently there are about 300 people -- and nearly half of them work for the government...
