I felt huge sympathy for people about the football result* until I saw the 'gathering' outside the local taxi rank who were engaged in trying to fit 'f**k the french' to every tune under the sun - Vindaloo worked well, but the rest... *shrug*ah well, at least they weren't being violent.

*fans of PTFC are used to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory... or at least a draw ; )

Hmm. Creative. In hindsight I think it was the right thing to do to nip out half way through and see if I could book some flights to Barcelona... But hey, my hearing in Croydon on Friday has been cancelled... :)

The footie result was hilarious - the best bits being the pics of Beckham in tears, and the section of the stats in the paper this morning that read "Zidane 90, 90 (pen)"...classic!

As you may have surmised, the fate of the Eng-er-land team in Portugal is a matter of supreme indifference to me...
