I think you need my old tectonics book. It had an almost pornographic chapter about the height of orogenies compared to the angle of thrust.

(I'm presuming that having a full stop is enough to make it count as the first sentence. If it keeps going, well -- "Darkness and warmth. And then, an all-beep rendition of 'La Cucaracha.'" That's less encouraging.)
