Severed implies they were connected ever.
With one small exception, at one small point, the Islamic world and the Christian world have always existed separately. (I use these terms very carefully, for it is not "Islam" and the "West". It is deeper than that)

how beautiful it was.., but since the invasion of US army in iraq, ppl especially the childrens infected by american pop culture. they started to partying, making tatoos, dating?, drinking?!!
they-allied, conscious or unconscious teached and spread evils.
they-us army-and ppl with them probably think by losing their-childrens of iraq-virgins will make them grown up and be a man but all would be happen is suffering unhappy civilization.
look on how japanese rejected with the occupying land for US military base.
