It is so sad that I got that tipsy from one-and-a-half beers. I actually ended up with the hiccups on the bus home, which was a little bit mortifying as I was carrying a bottle of wine in one hand and my laptop in the other, and probably looked like a total alkie. Suffice it to say, I did not open the wine when I got home; I took a Tums and sat ( Read more... )

Re: SAAAAAAMMM! NOOOOOOOO!- ditto.

I think the reason she signed up to be a Doll was because she was in big trouble, and that was the only way she thought she could get out of it. In the first scene, the Brit woman said after five years, her slate was wiped clean. People sign themselves up for all sorts of stuff when they don't think they have another way out, or to save someone else from paying a price, etc.

Kate Vernon was SO rocking that episode. Can't wait to see what her reaction is to pregnant Caprica Six next week . . . And Sam said to STAY WITH THE FLEET, DAMMIT.

And just once more for good measure . . . SAAAAAMMMM!!!

Oh, good catch on the "stay with the Fleet" thing... at the time I was like, "wait, were they planning to go somewhere?" but I did see that bit in the previews. Eeee!

I'm finding it hard to believe that Sam is permanently gone, destruction of the resurrection hub or no. His story with Starbuck seems not entirely resolved. On the other hand, there aren't many episodes left, so who knows.

Dollhouse. Wow. Not one single iota of humor that I could see. Joss is dark, but it's not like him to be humorless. I'm blaming it on Fox.

There was some quality writing--enough that what was awkward I'm perfectly willing to blame on Fox.

More lascivious nudity than Joss usually feels a need to throw at us, so, yeah. Fox.

In other words, I'll give it a few more chances. Chances are, that's all the chances we'll get.

I liked the guy who did the erasing -- there's some potential there for conflicts. But you're right about the lack of humor. Imprinting false memories on people is srs bsns.

Doooooomed! And the ratings even started out kind of low.

That's too bad. How anyone can expect any show to set Friday ratings on fire--especially when the opening Friday is a huge date night (or so I've heard)--is beyond me.

I rewatched the ep last night with vampirefan, and got a lot more out of it. Came away from the second (and in some sections third and fourth and no I don't mean sweaty mostly naked Tamoh Penikett) viewing feeling much more positive about it.

Which is too bad, really.
