Another Dragon Entry

Jul 12, 2009 20:59

My first two dragons have grown up! :D Funny enough, the green dragon turned out to be a female and the pink was male. *g* My Elvish is rusty at best, but I hope the names I've given them mean what they're supposed to mean. ;-)

May I introduce you to Eryniel (= daughter of the forest) and Roménion (= son of the sunrise/morning/dawn):

Yay for dragons! Those are lovely ones, and the names you've given them are wonderful!

Clicks for all your new babies. :) Ooo, and I notice the orange one has a "Dorkface" mother - that lineage is, from what I hear, considered quite desirable and in-demand. Not sure how pure this one would be considered, since I don't see its lineage name carried back in its grandparents, so it may have skipped a generation or something - but still neat. :)

Thank you! :D Do you still raise/breed dragons, too? I'd gladly provide clicks for any needy eggs/hatchlings you might have!

That sounds fascinating - I didn't know there are lineages that are especially desirable and in-demand! It's great that the orange egg seems to stem at least partly from such a lineage! *happy bouncing* You sound very much like a dragon expert. :) Is there a forum/website where you can learn things like that (desirable lineages, etc)?

Yes indeed, I'm still busily raising and breeding dragons! Just haven't posted my babies to LJ for a while. :) I'm Imbecamiel over there, as usual. *g*

Oh yes, there are quite a number of dragon lineages going. Dorkface is probably the best known of them. Good news, as well - I did a quick trace of your orange egg's lineage, and though the lineage name did skip a generation, your new dragon is indeed a genuine descendant of the Dorkface line, from the original Midas Dorkface and Shallyna'ar. Congrats! That means that, if you wish, when you name the dragon you can add the last name of "Dorkface" to whatever name you choose, and its children will also be part of the lineage, and can take the lineage name. Fun! :D

Hehe, most of my dragon knowledge has been just picked up here and there in the course of things - there isn't really any one place with exhaustive information on such things. The official Dragon Cave Forum is often useful, especially if there are problems with the site. You can generally find out what's wrong there, and ( ... )

Aww, you have lots and lots of cute hatchlings! :) I've just spent some time happily clicking on your eggs and hatchlings - I can see you've been very busy in the dragon rearing business! *g* Is the "loke" in their family names Quenya for "dragon"?

That's great news! :D I guess I have something like an aristocratic dragon then. *g* Hm, I wish the lineage name would be a bit more dignified, though. LOL!

Thanks a lot for the links! I know the Dragon Cave Forum from reading through the FAQs there, but I didn't know jadedestiny.com. That's a great site! It's so much fun to trace my dragons' lineage! Wah, I think I'm really becoming addicted! ;-)

You seem to be getting the hang of this dragon rearing! I've clicked on the eggs so i hope that helps the next batch on their way.

I think I know the basics now! *g* It's hopefully enough to keep the eggs/hatchlings alive, though I'm sure I still have much to learn about dragon rearing. ;-) Thank you! My baby-dragons-to-be are very happy about the clicks! :D

Clicked on them all. I'm sure they're going to hatch, and be as beautiful as Eryniel and Romenion.

Good luck and congratulations on your first pair!

Why not breed your pink and your green one?You can have a 5th eg if you bred it yourself.

The whites are my favourites and I love the oranges too, they star in the ficlet I wrote for the AA Group.

Thank you, Linda! :)

Aha, so that's why I've seen some people having five eggs though the FAQs state you can't take more than four! I was just wondering about it. ;-) I'm not sure I want another green or pink egg at the moment, though the thought of breeding those two dragons is enticing. *g*

The whites are so beautiful and I really love the orange ones, too! I'm not sure if the whites or the silver dragons are my favourites - the silver ones just have such a Chinese touch that makes them look like Temeraire to me (or perhaps that's because you called one of them "Silver Temeraire" *g*). I haven't seen a single silver egg in the dragon cave so far, though, so I'll stick to the whites right now. ;-) I remember the story about Anduril and Snowfire! Now that I've a little bit of personal experience with dragon rearing I like the story even more. :)

I've some good breeding stock for silvers,so if you don't have any luck finding one, I could try to breed you an egg as there is a way of exchanging them.

I'm pleased my story is more vivid to you now.I think the silver ones look as I imagine a Chinese dragon!

Thank you, that's wonderful! :) I didn't know there is a way to exchange eggs! I'll try hunting for a silver egg a bit longer, but it's quite likely I will take you up on your offer in the end - I think I've seen every kind of egg at least once on the abandoned eggs page, except a silver egg. They seem to be extremely rare. :(

I think so, too, and they are really beautiful (one of them in black would be a perfect Temeraire!).

Congratulations! *g* *wonders if it is safe to hug dragons*

The names are lovely - and I have to agree entirely with you about where they are likely to be found. *bg*

I've clicked... I'm sure they'll be every bit as adorable. ;-)

Thank you! :D Hehe, feel free to hug the dragons anytime - since they're *my* dragons, they like you! *g*

It's really quite obvious what kind of surroundings they'd choose, isn't it? ;-)

They gobbled your clicks eagerly and found them very tasty. LOL!

Btw, you won't believe what I've just found while looking up Roménion's lineage - there's a dragon named "Bregolien"! And he's related to my Roménion (he's his great-great-great-grandfather)! *faints from shock* You can see him here:

http://dragcave.net/view/n/Bregolien

Perhaps Smaug got to eat Bregolien after all and, for some reason, decided to name one of his offspring after him?! *scratches head*

Oh, thank you! *hugs dragons*

Very much. ;-) I'd be happy to click/cuddle anytime!

Oh... wow! I never would have imagined that! Maybe this is the time to give the Elf-Bregolien a map to Smaug's cave. *eg*

Definitely! This must be a sign of fate or something. *bg* I wonder if Bregolien's owner is reading your story? ;-) If Bregolien were a dragon, he'd probably look like that! :D
