Need a Hug?

Apr 10, 2009 14:40

There's been so much going on during the last three weeks that I simply never seem to find the time to write an update about it (perhaps I'll manage to do so this weekend), but here's something I just had to share with you. For everyone of you who needs a hug today, here's my favourite image of the day from deviantArt:

Oh, what a sweet picture! And just right for Easter. It really is a heartwarming one.

I hope all the goings'-on have been good ones!

So cute, isn't it? ;-) It's absolutely adorable and really a perfect Easter pic. :D

Not really, I'm afraid. I had to go on another friend's funeral, among other, less important things like having constant trouble with our printer and our car. The funeral was much different than the last one, though - it was comforting rather than depressing. Since there was no family available, the funeral was organized by Sylvia's (my friend's) church community and it was just... so loving. It's obvious that she's been a blessing to many people, and was loved. Also, she died so quickly she probably didn't even notice it and had been in constant pain for long years now (due to complications after having her legs amputated after an accident). It's really still a bit difficult to understand she is gone. I've wanted to make an entry about it for a while now, but couldn't really find both the time and the words.

Oh I'm so sorry! My condolences on your loss... it's always so hard to lose friends, and this is your second in what, less than a year, am I right? That's so difficult. {{hugs}} and prayers to you.

Thank you! (((hugs back))) I haven't known Sylvia for long and I should probably not have been too surprised - her health has always been precarious since the accident - but it all happened so incredibly fast! One day she was alive and making lots of plans (she had just bought a notebook and was learning how to use it) and the next day our telephone answering machine told us she had passed on. I'm going to miss her, though I'm also grateful she had an easy death and does not have to suffer anymore. The people of her church community are planning to come together two weeks from now to remember Sylvia and share memories of her and we've been invited, too. It just makes things so much easier to be able to share one's grief with others, especially since those others happen to share the same hopes and beliefs we have.

LOL! That was my reaction exactly! :D I think my first comment was something like *dies from cuteness*. *g* It's just so incredibly heartwarming! *happy sigh*

It seems like the perfect time for a hug feast, doesn't it? *huggleglomps* I'm glad I found that picture yesterday! :)

Isn't it? :D When I'm commenting on this woman's pics, it's very often something like *dies from cuteness*. LOL! I think it must be one of the most heartwarming, lovable pictures I've ever seen! :)
