"Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love."

- Hamlet - by William Shakespeare

"Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself."
- Kahil Gibran

The rainy season came, the most important season in a desert place. Colorful flowers could be seen in the desert and our youths were ready to mate. They all had partners already, chosen by the Central Administration based in genetic compatibility and legal situation - but not all of them had decided to follow that path.

Cumulus K (by an_nas), now a recognized descendant of Wolfram K, had met his fiancée Jae (by foreverred) in a nice tea party promoted by the lady who was the representative of the Central Division of Matchmaking. They liked each other and Cumulus was satisfied enough with his new social status of "official" to accept an arranged marriage. Who could tell that it won't work for them?

Cumulus had inherited his mother's house; she was moving to the islands where the weather was more pleasant, to live in a small single apartment. She had hopes that Borg will move to live with her as soon as he finish his studies - he was yet stuck at the university.

Cumulus and Jae had no many friends; Jae had never traveled in her life so Cumulus decided to take her to Moon Island to marry there and spend some days at the beach. Jae was pleased, a small party would make her happy; she was happy enough in have found a suitable pair to herself. She was amused by Cumulus' extravagances - it's how she called his ecletic taste shaped by the numerous travels that he did.

He promised her a never boring life of adventures - and all the children that she would like to have.

If Cumulus was enjoying a not-so-much-traditional marriage from the start - except for the part of matchmaking - other couples of the season were experiencing a completely different choice.

He had waited a long time for this day, patient and always present.

He have always loved her on his own way... and she knew that. They both kept the commitment that they had accepted many seasons ago with happiness. It was a mix of duty and joy.

Aldebaran (by sly_doubt) was a man of duty.

Would his father feel proud of him? If Aldebaran had counted (but he wasn't counting) Thege would be his third wife and she would be pampered and spoiled by his father as a possible future carrier of his so expected grandson...

The severe ancient would be pleased by the ceremony and celebration. Aldebaran had spared no expense and had followed all traditions.

Thege was visibly happy. This was Aldebaran's greatest wish fullfilled.

He took her to the place in the planet that was most alike his homeland: Cipangu. He didn't said anything about it to her, he just said that he already had traveled to there before and had enjoyed.

His reasons weren't important, Thege was happy enough in travel in her beloved husband's company.

He finally was hers.

There was a couple who was breaking every single tradition, habit, rule and almost had broke one law (but the bride already reached the majority): Rylan (by astro_cake) and Asha.

They were going to make different than everybody else, they had decided to elope and no, they didn't tell any person. They simply went to Moon Island to marry there.

They didn't need anything: family, guests, a big party, nothing.

It's an abused and overused cliché but it was true in their case... they had each other.

They were doing everything in their own way.

While others were doing things to please others...

... they were egoistically pleasing just themselves.

Boch and Mir (by Absintea) had no money after graduation but they weren't worried. They rented a small apartment at Downtown in an old warehouse rebuilt to be a collective residence.

Their choice was simple, almost a shotgun wedding: Boch invited the whole family to go to a club and appeared with a ring and a party organized.

Mir's mind blew out; it was everything at once, meet the family and get married. It was too much to him.

But he obviously was thrilled with the idea.

Even if they had no money to travel after and had to spend their honeymoon in the small dirty apartment looking for jobs.

She had a privileged position in life: she was the heir in her family, with her father's physical traits and her mother's disposition.

Her mother wanted a bigger party but Twiggy choose to make something very elegant, for sure, but small and cozy. Only the closest family and friends were invited.

Everything that she could do to please Angel (by racetrackd), she would do.

Angel wanted a memorable stylish party.

They had no funds for much more, so they traveled to camp in Alpinloch. Twiggy loved to fish, she had learned that as a child.

... and the most important, they were enjoying some time alone, together.

No matter what, in Ziggy's mind the competition continued. If Twiggy was going to have a very classy wedding with an elegant bride (she had to have a bride, just to imitate him, didn't she?), cake and delicious beverages, he was going to do it bigger and better.

His bride was happy with the idea, so he had her full support.

They invited everyone, relatives, friends, random casual strangers.

There was food to everyone. And a photographer, to register everything so he could brag about for generations.

That dress had cost him a fortune. She looked good wearing it.

His father had to be proud. Was he drunk? He had to be, the liquors were the best.

He should have bought a new dress to his mom, who also should start to consider the idea to be cured of plantsimsism. That always bothered him, it was embarrassing, he had spent half of his life explaining to his colleagues that his mother was a vegetable, for Pete's sake! He barely remembered how she really looked like.

Oh, great. Daddy was doing that dance and everybody was following him. It was time to get out of the party and go...

... to the cheapest honeymoon travel that he could found: camping in Moon Island.

He was completely broke so no fancy travels to them. It didn't matter although no one knows.

Now all that he'll have to do was to have a baby as soon as possible: before Twiggy, preferably.

Stay tuned...

Notes:

I love to throw wedding parties and Aldebaran/Thege's and Rylan/Asha's went to my list of "favorite weddings ever". I enjoyed all of them (well, Boch and Mir wedding was complicated and several things went wrong) but these two were particularly pleasant. Aldebaran/Thege's started in the middle of the afternoon, it didn't rained (I was really having a rain season in my game), we had a beautiful sunset and then the party at night. They danced for hours and I took much more pictures, I just choose my fav ones. Rylan/Asha wedding was a blast, specially because after the ceremony they went to have dinner at the food stand, play pool and they watched the stars together (I don't know how that interaction is called in english, I love it). They returned to their hotel in the morning. It was awesome.

I wanted badly some brides in red because in some cultures (like the indian or the chinese culture) the bride wears red. I thought that Cumulus wearing a kimono was a nice touch, also.

The outfits that I choose to Twiggy/Angel were inspired in a real wedding. I downloaded the beautiful dress that Angel is wearing (I don't remember where) but I made Twiggy's outfit.

I made all these wedding cakes. You can download them here.
