Great start! And they/you will get the hang of businesses. :) I just do "basic sell" repeatedly, close the shop if the restocking gets too bad, and there is, somewhere, a "practice" cash register. Though I find that a sim can learn how pretty fast on their own.

Oh - I might also have a "learn the cash register faster" mod. I'm not on that computer, so I'm not sure.

Looking forward to more! And there's also buildacity_sims to advertise in.

Thanks for the encouragement - I'm on the second household, and it's definitely going better . . . but I definitely screwed up on the building itself. How does a 'practice' cash register work? Just stick the sim on it and let them slowly skill up that way while someone who's more skilled handles the brunt of the customers? Or do you mean at home?

Ooh, thank you for the link! *joins group* I'll post there after I've completed week one.

AFAIK, the practice register can be used anywhere, including at home. But I only used it once. My sims just learn how to use the register the hard way. :) It's definitely easier for sims to pick up the register skill while the store is low level, and thus they don't have a long line of customers to get frustrated.

The cash register trainer is by Numenor, I think.

Fun!

Running stores gets a lot easier. Venues aren't bad but restaurants were always annoying to me. I'm sure there was a secret to them but I just didn't care to learn it.

Servos and the "good mood" plants will make all businesses so much easier.
