Tunes: Drama Mama

Been wanting to up these for a while, just because I've become such a drama geek since last spring, and man, do I heart their songs. I'm still looking for some of the lyrics and translations for most of them, but hopefully I'll find and add 'em in to the post when I do.

OMG your icon :)

I'll certainly take a listen to these songs when my internet connection is at its normal speed. Thanks for sharing them. I heard Ling a while ago but haven't watched Mars yet. I read the Manga and enjoyed that. It was angsty ^^;;

From what I've noticed with a lot of Taiwanese dramas they tend to develop a bit of a hit or miss reception for some strange reason. It could be because the Taiwanese writers can't present the same kind of appeal as the Korean or Japanese dramas when it comes to casting or plot though I could be mistaken. I'm always open to finding good Taiwanese dramas. I believe they're not all as bad as the critics make them out to be.

Wouldn't have been possible without you. ♥

No problem! Happy to hear you'll be checking them out!

There are quite a number of dramas based of manga, it seems. I haven't read the manga, so I'm not sure how closely the drama followed the original, but it definitely was angsty. ^^v

I believe they're not all as bad as the critics make them out to be.

I've found ones that I've enjoyed a lot. Aside from the Taiwanese dramas I already mentioned, I've seen Prince Who Turns To Frog and Magicians of Love (both featured Ming Dao and Sam Wang) and thought they were good. Even though I haven't finished Love Contract, I don't think it's all that bad. For all I know, it could knock off my socks in the following episodes.

Thanks for the music, Jess! As always, these picks look solid... it's kind of embarrassing that I don't know what they're saying, but then you posted lyrics to help with that fact, so thanks doubly so!

Also, I second the OMG your icon. ^_~

:D Thank you and you're welcome, Sabe! I hope you enjoy! And I know what you mean about being somewhat embarrassed about not understanding; if only we could understand other languages all at once, that would be extremely cool. Glad the lyric translations were of help!

*grin* I know... ^^ What we all need is a version of Douglas Adams' Babelfish to keep around for instances like this. I love the way that different languages sound; how some words are untranslateable (how there are fifty words for love in some languages and no outright words for love in others; how Japanese chirps and clips and whispers through my headphones; how French glides and seduces as it slips over my tongue; how English plays and steals words from every other language under the sun as I scrawl it in blue-covered notebooks) but a Babelfish could come in handy when definition must supercede emotion. ^^*

(Eheh, sorry about the babble, and the tracks are excellent so far!)

Languages are indeed fascinating. I love listening to them too. Hah, and Babelfish! That would be a very handy little device (er, pet?). ...So that's where the Alta Vista online translator took its name. I use it all the time. ^^

Good to hear the songs were a hit!

...drat, LJ just ate my post.

Ooh, stuff from MARS. Never seen it. *wanders off to look it up*

Hey, have a link for you, if you're interested btw. Long story short 'cuz I am not typing out that whole post again *waves fist at LJ* I did some test graphic kind of... things, thought I'd give you a heads-up in a request for some critiquing or something (feeling a bit embarrassed now -_-").

And sorry it took me so long, btw.

I've had that happen to me quite a number of times, so -- I feel your pain. Now whenever I'm writing a lengthy comment or post on LJ, I usually copy it just in case something goes awry.

Yeah, sure, don't mind at all; thanks for even considering me. Feel free to request, I'm game to help out anyway I can. Link me up, Scotty! ^^
