I was too giddy at discovering My Bloody Valentine was actually playing Dallas, that I didn't think to check when tickets were going on sale. Figuring it would be some time in the next week before I could get my hands on tickets.

Using Ticketmaster is such a traumatic ordeal! I always feel like I've cheated death when I make it away alive with tickets in hand. =P

Tickets were $37. After their service charges it was $53!!!! That's service charges that equalled 1/2 the ticket. WTF!

And Billy Corgan wants us to think a Live Nation/TicketMaster merger is a good thing?

I was so excited when I heard that Live Nation was going to start selling their own tickets. That lasted about 2.5 seconds before Ticketmaster was in the picture. Blah.

Used to be many options in the area, but now there is only a single independent venue for mid-sized shows that doesn't use TM for ticketing. All the others in the area now goes through the TM behemoth.
