Would you mind explaining Bellatrix's good points to me? Was she creepy to you? Dangerous? Volitile? How so?
I couldn't get past how annoying Bellatrix's head movements were. And how she wouldn't fucking stand still!
She seemed a bit more ghoulish and over exagerated, too me. I think in the book I tended to take it for granted that she was nutso. Like it was something so true that it didn't have to be made as a point constantly. Kind of like how confident people aren't trying to constantly appear confident--it just comes naturally? Something like that.
Basically i just found her agressively annoying and found myself cringing when she was onscreen. She didn't scare me for a second. I'd say she was more humoursly exagerated and garrishly funny than anything else.
I think some of her craziness was exaggerated to a humorous extent, but overall, the movie did have a surprising amount of humor, so I think that fit okay.
I really love Helena Bonham Carter, though; I think she's brilliant and perfect for Bellatrix, and everything about her just plays into what I imagine Bellatrix would be. When I read the books, I imagined her as seriously psychotic, so for me, she was going in kind of the right direction in the movie.
It's also different with the books and the movie where in the books, you can describe something once and from then on it's implied. In the movie, they kept kind of restating her insanity because it was just always there, y'know? At least, that's what I got from it.
Helena Bonham Carter is one of my faaaavorites, so I'm biased when it comes to Bellatrix, but--so crazy in the best ways. And the part at the end with the wands? ;_________; yes.
