The course of history has certainly changed, yes. I was pretty much on the fence about the issue until I watched the Great Debate on Tuesday night, and I found it appalling that the Remain side had nothing positive to offer, only fomenting fear about dire consequences if Leave won, while Leave's statements were consistently positive and optimistic. In the end, I think Remain's 'Project Fear' as it became known seriously backfired on them.
As for the future, who knows? One thing I can almost count on, though: the EU is going to assume a vengeful attitude toward the UK. They are going to try to punish them for what they've done, and I think that will backfire, too. Despite what the naysayers predict, the UK is the world's fifth largest economy, and prudence would dictate a conciliatory approach with regard to future trade dealings. But I seriously doubt the EU will be gracious. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, though, I truly do, for everyone's sake.
The mayor of Calais recently said she's going to make her town's refugees move to Britain as a consequence for leaving the EU. Not only that, but mainly younger voters wanted a recount as they largely supported the FeaRemain camp.
