I don't do this explicitly, but often find myself thinking about dinosaurs/zombies/aliens and breach points.

Your house is terrible for this on the ground floor, the basement is good and the upstairs are questionable.

I may or may not have weighed the zombie defensibility of potential apartments before signing my lease. In any case, my new place is an impenetrable fortress as long as I'm willing to demolish the stairs.
