I've gotten both of my fest fics done and off to the ever-so-kind tailoredshirt , who agreed (probably foolishly) to beta them for me. I hate one of them--absolutely loathe it--and think the other may have something to it if Ms. Shirt can pound it into readable form. In the mean time I'm writing an alternate for the fic I hate, so maybe I won't have to send the ( Read more... )

First of all, tomorrow is my day for betaing your fics! And based on the first few pages, I think you are being much too hard on yourself.

As for the lj-cut, are you posting in html code or rich text? I used to use the rich text screen, but it's so unstable and difficult to get exactly right. If you use the html tab when you go to post, it's much easier. Of course, that requires using html code, which takes some getting used to. But if you know how to code your fics, as you're already required to do for fests, then using the html screen should be easier for you. The html code for an lj-cut is very easy once you know how it works. Here's what it should look like on the screen:

HEADER INFORMATION ABOVE THE CUT

lj-cut text="what you want the cut text to say"

FIC

/lj-cutIf you have absolutely no idea what any of that means or still can't get it to work, then let me know and I'll try to explain it more clearly. Or you could shoot me the stories in question and I could code them for you ( ... )
