(OOC: No, I've only just finished high school; lack of sleep is from a cold, birds squawking at 3am and my cat meowing at my window just after that. x( And that's definitely true for me.)

[The young woman watched as Grimmer sat down in front of her, taking note of his limp-most likely from the explosion. At his question she gave him a half-hearted shrug, before shaking her head slightly and then just gave a sigh as she ran her hands through her hair in agitation. She gave him an annoyed look at the emphasis on “fake” although she nodded her head; she knew they weren't real, they were dead.

She should know, she killed them after all…

Vera trembled violently as the feeling of nausea rose up, clamping a hand over her mouth on instinct. She forced herself to think of something else, anything to make the slowly rising whispers go away and the small bloody shadow to disappear out of the comer of her eye. But she could already feel the panic and fear and guilt begin to overwhelm her again, she needed to find something to focus on or she ( ... )

[Grimmer’s assumption of Vera becoming defensive if he asked her what was wrong was correct; if he had she would have completely shut herself off from him and would end up acting like a complete bitch towards him. Now, she looked at him with a faint look of amusement as he laughed; she supposed it was quite an achievement, but she never really thought much about it. In her eyes, the achievements that her boss did were far more impressive since she was basically the backbone of Penumbra.

At his suggestion of studying Russian, she nodded her head and got some paper and her pen ready before looking at Grimmer expectantly. Vera was intrigued by the prospect of learning a new language and it would be valuable to know at least a few words in Russian in the event of encountering the natives. “And it would keep me occupied for a while.” The young woman thought to herself as she wearily rubbed her eyes.]

[Grimmer noticed that Vera looked very tired, and decided mentally that maybe studying for too long today wasn't a good idea. They'd go over the really simple basics today, and then probably do a more serious review when they were fully awake the next day. Aside, Grimmer knew that reviewing things 24 hours later generally made things alot easier to memorize ( ... )

[Vera blinked at Grimmer curiously before she considered her answer. She hadn't really thought about that, but if it did happen she knew that she would get involved no matter what.]

"I would protect Nesreca and fight against whoever would try to threaten any innocent lives." [More or less what she did in her own world, really. Except back home she had an army backing her up, while it seemed like most people here would rather not get involved with each other.

At Grimmer's suggestion, she nodded in agreement; she was told that she was a rather quick learner and so this shouldn't be too difficult, unless it was one of those weird languages that uses pictures instead of words. She could never wrap her head around those.]

(OOC: Yep, if that's alright.)

[Grimmer nodded as he read over what she wrote, making it clear that he agreed with her stance even before he said anything.] Yeah, the same goes with me. I'm not sure what will happen here, but ultimately that's what I will prioritize above all else. Basically, I will support you in whatever endeavor you choose ( ... )

[Vera gave Grimmer a very faint smile in return; it was nice to have an ally here, even if he was a bit odd. At his question though, she frowned at him in confusion and her frown deepened even further at his statement but she wouldn’t pry yet, although she made a note to ask him about it later along with his somewhat “similar” past ( ... )

[Grimmer’s smile became larger, happy to know that even if the politics went chaotic here, they'd still be able to avoid being placed on opposite sides. It wasn't that Grimmer didn't mind working and living alone (on the contrary, Grimmer preferred to be by himself) but he had a feeling that he'd be completely powerless if he didn't have any allies here. Furthermore, other than the fact that he didn't want to be forced to hurt any innocent people, Vera was still just a kid, and Grimmer wanted to be able to help her as much as he could, while at the same time hopefully not being a hindrance. That second part would definitely be difficult; but he'd try his best ( ... )

[Grimmer’s teaching methods were effective, as Vera didn’t seem to have that much trouble learning the characters. There were a couple of times that she had trouble understanding and it was during his pauses that she wrote down what she was having trouble with. The fact that he was so energetic and helpful was what made it easy for her to understand and learn the characters ( ... )

Oh...that was problem at all! After getting forced to learn this language for my job, it's nice to do something useful with it! [Grimmer nodded happily. Even though he spoke as though he was clueless to what she meant by thankyou, he understood what she meant perfectly. However, that was what one was suppost to do for another when they were in a bad situation, right? It was nothing that Grimmer was willing to accept thanks for. Also Grimmer lacked the emotions to be effected whether she said thanks or refused, or even threw a sentence full of angry f-bombs at him, which also helped the German to see no reason to accept gratitude or "fame" for good deeds ( ... )

[Vera merely rose an eyebrow at his statement, by did nothing else as she finished sorting out her own papers and also stood up. When Grimmer started speaking again, she turned her attention back to him and frowned at his question.

The young woman understood what he meant, and she was rather confused by it. There was no reason for him to help her out anymore, besides the whole studying languages thing, so why did he want to? She stared at him for another few seconds before she faintly nodded her head, looking as though she was still thinking about it. He really was rather odd, but it was still slightly reassuring that someone wanted to help her, so she vowed to do the same.]
