I thought it was really interesting that Dean didn't realise he was a demon at first, even though he could see Crowley's true face. Sam's shock seems very in character and so is Dean's want to end Crowley right there and then.

Hi evelyn, thanks for commenting! With regards to how slowly Dean realized what was happening, when Dean woke up everything actually happened pretty quickly, for him. Obviously Dean couldn't see his own eyes so from his perspective, he just thought Crowley was pulling some weird crap, manipulating what he was seeing, and once he blinked his eyes things went back to "normal" and Sam had summoned him away.
