Hair is very important, I feel you! I am rather disgruntled for instance that in the final season of BSG (which I'm watching for the first time), my favorite character changed his hairstyle and now it's awful. :/ It was so pretty and flawless before...

I'm never sure if it's the actor or the show. Like I remember with heroes, they got rid of Peter's floppy fringe and it just looked wrong.

They should know by now that it's all about the hair!

I'm glad you agree re: his hair before and after! I do always wonder about that as well, I know sometimes it is definitely the actor...but it might have been story related in this case, IDK.
