I can totally respect your point here, even if I don't do the same thing myself. I have an LJ icon that's a photograph of myself, which I use when I feel it's important that an LJ post be connected with the "real" me. But I don't actively link my LJ to my "real" name because I want to maintain control over who reads what I say here or, for that matter, who even knows that I have this journal.

I've never been to Baltimore, and I've only been to Maryland for a few hours - when I was 15 we went to visit relatives in West Virginia and one night we crossed over into Maryland for dinner.
