Weekend stuffs.

Friday, J&I stayed in and fell asleep early on the couch like old married people. Saturday, we got up to go to the Spoutwood Farm Faerie Festival, which was, to my surprise, freakin' huge. Like, really. Big. Danced a solo to a Balkan song I've never before heard with DragonSong Band, and it went surprisingly well (I have a solo-block in my head ( Read more... )

I will be. I'll probably end up forcing myself to solo at some point again just to get through the soloblock in my head.

I didn't like the first series of New Who until episode 8. I don't know that you'll fall in love with it or anything, but I didn't much care one way or the other until then, and at the moment it is pretty much my favorite thing. If the first series doesn't do it for you again, you might want to try skipping all the way too the current series, you can pick it up almost without having seen anything before it, it's a pretty good introduction to Who. Plus, it's shot in HD and overall MUCH MUCH PRETTIER. I mean, that is, if you're looking for something to watch and don't have much else to choose from.

I second the above poster's recommendation of viewing the first episode of the current series of Doctor Who. It should be available from Comcast On Demand. (On my system, it's TV Entertainment->BBC America->Doctor Who.) If that doesn't spark something in you, then don't bother with it any more. If it does, then it looks like you and I and all the rest are in for one hell of a ride.

I just kinda watched new Who while Christopher Eccleston was the Doctor. I didn't really get INTO it until David Tennant though.

So I'd actually have to contradict some of the recommendations above to skip Tennant entirely and more right onto the new guy, because he's the reason I'm still WATCHING the show and therefore enjoying the new guy.

Saw a photo on FB of your solo performance - you look gorgeous!!! I hate that I couldn't make it this year, having gone a few years ago and loved the setting - so perfect for fae events.
